Hopfengarten is a favourite meeting place amongst regular visitors and families of the recreational areas around the lake in the park. The 1,500 seats in the self-service area are partly shaded by still young chestnut trees and large sun umbrellas.
[[Steckerlfisch ]] (grilled fish on a stick) is prepared daily amongst other Bavarian specialties by the kitchen of the self service canteen. A [[Maß]] [[Löwenbräu]] Hell (lager) costs €6.60. <!-- april 2011 -->
Each Thursday and Sunday Munich bands perform in Hopfengarten. Major football tournaments are shown live on a big screen in the beer garden.
