A small cinema runs a 12-minute documentary throughout the day in German language with English subtitles about . The documentary explains how the Bavarian beer culture has evolved from various primitive brewing experiments of the middle ages, through innumerable small farm and monastery based brewery operations during of the Bavarian Kingdom, up until today's worldwide export industry dominated mainly by six major Munich breweries.

The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday between 1pm and 6pm. The entrance ticket for to the museum is €4 p/person. A restaurant and bar on the ground floor remains open until midnight. The museum, restaurant and bar are closed on Sundays and public holidays.
