The Hofbrauhaus-Keller in Freising was originally a storage location for cooling beer during the warm summer months. The traditional property, build in the same style building has a similar architecture as the old brewery, which is located behind the property of the original brewerynearby. In recent years the beer garden was managed by a leaseholder who discouraged a the Bavarian tradition for to permit guests to bring their own food. This , which caused many locals to boycott the beer garden. However, in In 2010 the new leaseholder, Peter Sonnauer, brought the traditional beer garden concept back to life and the Hofbrauhaus-Keller Freising has immediately regained its popularity amongst the local populationpeople of Freising. There are 650 seats in the self-serviced area of the beer garden and 120 seats on a serviced terrace on the opposite side of the main building in addition to a restaurant and events room within hall inside the buildingwhich can be booked for special events.
