The Bier & Oktoberfest Museum in Munich documents the Oktoberfest and Bavarian beer brewing traditions. Written displays detail historical facts and events, with illustrations and photos along with various beer related memorabilia, such as a collection of beer mugs used at the very first few Oktoberfest events.

A small cinema runs throughout the day a highly informative documentary about how Bavarian beer culture has evolved from its very beginning of brewing experiments in the medieval times, through innumerable small farm and monastery based brewing operations, up until today's worldwide export industry dominated by six major Munich breweries.

The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday between 1pm and 6pm. A restaurant and bar on the ground floor stays open until midnight. The museum, restaurant and bar are closed on Sundays and public holidays.
