The original restaurant and beer garden opened in 1889 and was then known as Tannengarten (pine garden) as there was once a pine forest behind the property. Following an ownership change in 2002, the beer garden and restaurant was renamed to Spektakel, which reflects the "Gewittershow", a 10-minute light and thunder show held in the restaurant every evening at 730pm and 930pm.
The small cosy beer garden with 600 seats lies hidden in a backyard and is shaded by chestnut and other trees. A Maß Hacker Pschorr costs €6,10. The foodstall offers a variety of cold and warm traditional Bavarian snacks and meals.
Major football tournaments are shown live on a screen in the beer garden.
The self-serviced area of the beer garden is open from Monday to Friday between 5pm and 11pm, on weekends between 3pm and 11pm.
