Cirkuswiese is one of the less busy beer gardens in Munich, situated next to the “Wiesn” where the Oktoberfest takes place. The beer garden is owned by the Hacker Pschorr Bräuhaus which operates a beer hall, restaurant and a “Wirtsgarten” garden across the road.
Cirkuswiese is suffering from years of neglect despite the fact that the location has been managed by the Hacker Pschorr Bräuhaus since recently. While the beer garden is closed, the gate remains open which invites the random office worker to sit down with their lunch pack or read a newspaper.
Circuswiese is open in the summer only when weather conditions are ideal or during the Oktoberfest. However, as of August 2010, the beer garden had so-far not opened for the season.
