The Hofbräuhaus have had many famous as well as infamous regulars, including Mozart who reputedly composed the Idomeneo opera after several visits to the beer hall, Lenin who when he lived around the block before World War I and became a regular Hofbräuhaus visitor, and Adolf Hitler, who although he did not drink, eat red meat or smoke, made it his preferred venue for tirades against the Jews in Germany.
