The Hofbräuhaus have had many famous as well as infamous regulars, from Mozart who reputedly composed the Idomeneo opera after several visits to the beer hall, Lenin who when he lived around the block before World War I became a regular visitor, and Hitler, who did not drink, eat red meat or smoke, made it his first and preferred venue for tirades against the German Jewish communities.
