Various sections of the museum are divided between floors. On the top floor, a small cinema runs an ongoing documentary how the Bavarian beer making tradition has evolved from humble beginning of small farm and home brewery operations to a present day worldwide export industry dominated by six major breweries in Munich. On the ground floor there is a restaurant, bar and a small beer cellar.

The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday between 1pm and 6pm. The restaurant and bar is open until midnight. Museum, restaurant and bar are all closed on Sundays and public holidays.
