Various sections of the museum are divided between floorsfloor levels in this narrow inner-city building, which is one of the oldest buildings in the area. On the top floor, a small cinema runs an ongoing documentary about how the Bavarian beer making tradition has evolved from humble its beginning of small farm and or monastery brewery operations to its the present day worldwide export industry dominated primarely by the six major breweries of Munich. On the ground floor there is a restaurant, bar and a small beer cellar.
