'''The Maisinger Seehof beer garden is located directly at the Maisinger See, just
...km west of Starnberger See and about ...km from the city centre of Munich.

In 1680 the Maisinger See was "created" by the monks to provide fish for the
starving population of this time. Over the years the lake became a moor biotop
with many endemic birds and fish farming is not a priority anymore.'''

In the same year of the "creation" of the lake a small pond house was also built.
This house has been rebuilt in 1899, using some of the old structure. After the
second World War Maising and its lake became known as a holiday destination and
the owner of the house began to sell food and beverages to the tourists as a
side income. The beer garden exists since 1950. After several leaseholder changes the owners of the house and grounds
took over the management of restaurant and beergarden again in 2001 and manage
it now in the 3rd generation.

The beer garden has 450 seats in the self-serviced area, most of which are
located on the embankment of the lake with great views over the water. Several
large trees provide the necessary shadow.

The food stall offers traditional Bavarian snacks and about 7 main courses. All
meals are prepared with biological grown products from the surrounding farm lands.
Various oven fresh cakes are still baked after an old recipe past on by generations.
The beer served is Herrebräu and costs ....Maß. All soft drinks come from the
Kelterei Perger, a juice maker in Breitbrunn at lake Ammersee.
